Q.  Will I be speak with my anesthesiologist before surgery?
A.  Every patient has the opportunity to meet the anesthesiologist on the day of surgery to review your medical history and to talk about your upcoming anesthesia.  Many times, especially if you request (via your surgeon) or your surgeon requests, your anesthesiologist will contact you the evening before surgery. Sometimes, due to scheduling issues, your anesthesiologist may not be known until the day of surgery.

Q.  If I have a problem after my surgery that I think may be related to my anesthesia, what should I do?
A.  Please contact your surgeon initially with your concerns. They will be able to answer some basic questions, will contact your anesthesiologist, or put you in touch with your anesthesiologist if necessary.
